Heirloom Farm House
Albemarle County, VirginiaThis property included two structures that the collaboration group had already worked on together: a renovated guest cottage and a new art studio. The new home site offered spectacular views of the distant landscape and the chance to live alongside an established apple orchard.
A quiet beauty manifests itself through simple forms, traditional materials, old world craftsmanship, abundant daylight and uncomplicated spaces. The trio of perspectives at the design table – designer, architect and landscape architect – wrought a new home uniquely suited to the family and to the land it resides on, a home that will sit comfortably alongside the orchard for generations to come.
